Popa and Grammy--a tribute

I always put lots of pictures of Grayson and his fun times/adventures. I thought I might take a minute to show some other people who are exceedingly important in his life. I found this picture cruising through family Facebook pictures and fell in love with it. This picture was taken by Frankie at Ryan and Nadin's wedding. It's not often we get to see Grammy and Popa so dressed up! Originally Mimi was on the other side of mom...sorry Mimi! (Your beautiful too but I just liked this picture of mom and dad!)
Anyhow...My original reason for doing this whole blog thing in the first place was so Gray could have like an on-line scrapbook (if you will) of his life. Grayson adores his Grammy and Popa...Grammy's wagon rides and tickles, Popa's supreme breakfasts on the weekends (bacon, eggs, grits and biscuits). He sees them everyday (usually) and runs to them when he sees them. Living next to my parents comes with its own benefits and challenges but I would not have it any other way. Thank you mom and dad (grammy and popa) for supporting, loving, and just being there for Grayson. Grayson is a very lucky little boy to have such wonderful grandparents. I love you and Thank you.

Gray and Austin take on Newton....

Chris, Gray and I had the honor and privilege of having Marc, Danielle and Austin spend a few days with us at our family farm in Newton. We had an absolute blast. We saw cows, petted mini-horses, rode the 4-wheeler, the boys ran down the batteries in their own respective tractor/4-wheelers, watched the Cars movie approximately twice each day and we all made memories to last forever. Thank you so very much for coming with us guys! We love you.
Chris tried hanging a jar of peanut butter from a tree and put down a salt lick covered with molasses at the bottom of the hill from the house to entice the deer to come out so we could see them. The picture in the middle on the right were it shows the boys running? If you look closely (or click on the picture to make it bigger) you can see Chris in the background. Unfortunately since it was so cold and the weather was kinda crappy...no deer ever showed up...which was okay because Chris shot a doe while we were there so everybody got to see a deer real close up!

First Play Date with Austin

Grayson and I invited Danielle and Austin over for a play date a couple of weeks ago. I didn't have a camera so these are the pictures that Danielle took. She tried sending them to me before but the sizing of the pictures was off and they were too small. So, Danielle and Austin came over again today for a some play time for the Mommies and the Boys. Danielle and I played canasta and the boys wore themselves out. She also brought her camera and I just downloaded all her pictures onto my computer so I could post them on the blog for everyone else to see. More still to come!

Grayson's Best Bud

These pictures except for two are from today's play date with Austin and Danielle. Again the boys had super fun. I especially love when they come over...cause Danielle is my best bud too! The big picture of the boys was actually taken while we were in Newton...but I loved it and missed putting it on the other post so I just added it to this one. I think these boys will be friends for a long time. They even napped together today! We forgot to get a picture of this, It sure was cute! Maybe next time!

Really Big Tree

So, This was a well over 100 year old red oak tree that had to be cut down because it was dying. Limbs were falling on the house so it had to go. This process has taken three days to cut down and cut up this tree. It was a sight to see. That is Pop B on the bulldozer pushing it over after Chris cut it with a very large chain saw.
Here's how many guys it takes to cut down one massive tree.

Pop B cutting away...

Chris cutting away..

Still cutting.

I am standing in the drive way at the bottom of the hill. That's our house in the back ground. See how little Pop B looks? Can you find him?
A little closer of Pop B..taking a rest. I wonder how he is going to get down? He is about eight feet from the ground...

Still cutting...Chris hurt for two days after this.
And lastly, I caught Uncle Ryan and Gray taking a break too...Gray loves his Uncle Ryan!

Over all, no one was majorly injured. Thank the Lord. I was praying the whole time and asking where the nearest hospital was. I suppose I just needed a little more faith. The boys ended the day with a few cold beers. Good day.

Christmas 2009

In no particular order...Here is our Christmas for 2009. This is Grammie's living room after the wrath of presents. What a mess!
Grammie and Popa very happy about their gifts!
Grammie took the camera to get a picture of us.
Grayson got so many new toys..This is one of his favorites. It's Handy Manny's Fix-it-Right Tool Truck. The back opens with lots of things to "fix". It talks and it came with "the tools" to make all the repairs. Its really cool.
Here he is opening the Handy Manny "doll" that goes with his Truck. Manny fits in the truck and helps to "fix" things.

And of course he had to "fix" his bike. That's Pat, the Hammer, he is currently tapping his training wheel with. Gray has been fixing lots of things around the house. Most I didn't know needed fixing!
And lastly....He gave up. This was shortly after breakfast, well brunch. Sorry the picture is sideways, I forgot to rotate it before I posted it. Notice the Bob the Builder videos Papa is holding? Gray fell asleep holding them. I had to slide them out from under his arm!
Gray was so tired that I was able to carry him home, change his pull-up, change his clothes and put him in his bed without him waking up. He slept for three hours! Christmas is exhausting!
